Job Description

Provides guidelines and directions to allassets on potential areas on data integration and geological model development.

Defines and updates workflows, methodologies and procedures in alignment withindustry best practice.

Provides technical support, advisory andtraining to the COMPANY staff, Acts as technical authority in domain ofGeomodelling.

Represents technical authority for Gemodelling in  to the COMPANY

Defines standards for data integration andgeological model development across to the COMPANY Asset Teams 

Supports assets in determining opportunities todevelop studies to assist with geomodelling and surface-subsurface integration.

Identifies challenges across all assets andimplements new technologies and workflows.

Captures lessons learned / best practices andensures their communication across assets.

Participates directly and indirectly in technicalstaff development (training, coaching, career development)

Accountability

Builds 3D geological models incorporating reservoirrock typing, structural, seismic, SCAL data and performances uncertaintyanalyse

Evaluates geological uncertainties in the subsurfaceby defining and ranking geological scenarios. Supports reservoir engineers inthe simulation studies. Initiates and follows up closely on all geology relatedstudies in new reservoirs carried out by consultants or shareholders inassigned field/concession area.

Develops, directs, and participates in geologicalreservoir studies aimed at constructing and/or improving geological models.Includes coordinating and defining coring, logging and testing requirements.

Coordinates and checks the preparation of geologicalrequirements and geological predictions of appraisal and development wells.

Coordinates and participates in the preparation ofreservoir appraisal sheets. Includes reviewing and evaluating test results.

Participates in the definition of contracted specialfield testing related to reservoir geology. Includes defining scope of specialtest required, preparing specifications, evaluating bids and recommending finalaward and contract features as assigned. Ensures contractors’ compliance withcontract terms and schedules and monitors progress and performance throughregular activity reports.

Minimum Criteria
  • Bachelor Degree/Master inGeology / Geological science or equivalent.
  •  15 years inpetro-technical discipline (Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering,Geoscience), of which 5 years in a specialist role. International experience ispreferable.
  • Track recordin maturing and applying new technologies and participation in R& Dprojects

  • Responsible for independent study and production ofaccurate data for appraisal and field development. Accountable for providingsedimentology and rock typing expertise to assigned Team aiming atdiscovery/development of new reserves as the primary objectives
  • Keeps abreast of related development within the oilproduction industry Includes:
  • Attending and representing to the COMPANY  in conferences,seminars and society meetings to Identify new developments in the industry ofinterest of the Company.
  • Prepares reports/papers on such functions andcirculates to supervisor and team members.
