The Innovation Strategy Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring a continuous pipeline of smart utility/ energy ideas and innovation, acting as the custodian of the Emirates’ strategy and investment plans.
In addition, this role is responsible for the evaluation and approval of all new Smart Utility/ Energy project ideas, business cases and investment cases as part of the overall Smart Utility/ Energy Innovation Portfolio. They will also be required to lead the initiation and development of new ideas and projects to fulfil the Smart Utility/ Energy Strategy and Roadmap.
Shape and drive the strategic direction of company’s Innovation Strategy covering all Smart Utility/ Energy project ideas, business cases and investment cases.
Initiate the analysis of unlocked potential of investing in Smart Utility/ Energy projects within the different directorates across the energy sector, focusing on timelines and return on investment.
Initiate and develop new ideas and projects that fulfil both company’s Mission and Vision but also Smart Utility/ Energy Strategy and Roadmap.
Initiate and support research that helps strengthen company’s innovation focus and enhances areas of growth, including researching new technologies, practices and equipment.
Collect, propose and contextually analyse value-added technology-driven innovation. Review and identify valuable opportunities for novel technologies, methods and concepts with the different directorates in close collaboration to the directorate of Sector Development.
Monitor the global technological landscape within the energy sector focusing on best practices on growing company’s Smart Utility/ Energy portfolio.
Assist in developing and driving innovation focused initiatives, keeping a strong focus on transformational initiatives within the energy sector.
Assist in following up and monitoring of approved Smart Utility/ Energy on-going projects.
Connect and collaborate to other innovation groups/initiatives within the energy sector, regionally and globally, to contribute to a diversified yet consistent innovation ecosystem.
Assist in helping DoE become an innovation leader and change agent to embed a culture of value-driven innovation within the UAE and globally.
Work with the relevant stakeholders across the different directorates in defining directorate-specific scope for innovation, potential areas of growth and identifying any key associated risks.
Create a culture, which fosters innovation and priorities the innovation agenda in driving DoE forward, focusing on the acquiring of new skills and adopting new practices readily in order to develop innovative and low-cost strategies across the relevant directorates.
